I’ve come to realise that when someone is going through a difficult season, I don’t always need to have the right words, the perfect advice, or a solution.
For the longest time, I thought helping meant fixing. That if I cared enough, I should be able to say something that would make things better.
But some of life’s hardest moments can’t be solved with a conversation.
What I’ve learned is that people often don’t need answers as much as they need to know they’re not alone.
Someone who listens.
Someone who stays.
Someone who sits with them in the mess without rushing them to move on.
I may not be able to take away someone’s burden, but I can help carry it for a while simply by being present.
And sometimes, that’s one of the most meaningful gifts we can give each other.
