I think this post marks a turning point in my investing journey. Over time, I’ve shifted from investing mainly in growth stocks in the Singapore market to building a more balanced portfolio that includes both growth and dividend stocks across Singapore, Hong Kong, and the US, with some bonds and the occasional options trade.
Personally, I’d be content continuing on this path, steadily growing my portfolio, collecting dividends, and keeping up with the latest news about the companies I own.
Still, part of me has always hoped my wife would join me on this investing journey. Over the years, I’ve tried to persuade her, but it hasn’t been easy – even getting her to open a brokerage account was a challenge. To her, stock investing feels risky… and to be fair, for many people, it certainly can be.
