Liquid Group, the company behind now defunct XNAP, has relaunched LiquidPay. LiquidPay V2 is supposed to make travel payments easy, letting people pay across different countries easily, but users have found something arguably more useful for Singaporean residents – LiquidPay V2 comes with the ability to make payments to NETS QR (widely used by hawker stalls) via a linked credit card. This makes paying for hawker stalls with credit cards possible again… for now. Earn cashback and miles for hawker stall payments again I’ve tested a couple of transactions, and the payments went through successfully. The stall I patronised had a NETS payment terminal which printed the receipt as soon as I made the payment. The Merchant Category Code (MCC) for such transactions is 5399 for Miscellaneous General Merchandise.
