Singapore’s Largest Former Cinema Is Up For Sale At $31 Million — And Its Next Life Could Look Very Different

When Golden Mile Tower was completed in the 1970s, its cinema wasn’t just another commercial tenant. Developed by Chong Gay Theatres, Golden Mile Tower housed the 1,896-seat Golden Cinema. It had an enormous 80-by-56-foot curved screen, a preview room, and a VIP lounge, making it one of the most ambitious cinema projects in Southeast Asia. For much of the past decade, the space has evolved alongside Singapore’s movie-going culture. In recent years, it was best known as the home of Carnival Cinemas, known for screening Bollywood and South Indian films. Now the space is up for grabs at $31 million:

A reserve price of $295 psf for almost 105,000 sq ft of space 

The 104,991 sq ft strata-titled property has been put up for sale, with a guide price of S$31 million or roughly S$295 psf.
