The Full Power of 1M65, Powered by Your CPF. A Must Watch for All.

Is 1M65 enough for retirement? Many people hear “S$1 million by 65” and assume that retirement is secured. But the answer changes completely depending on one question: Is that S$1 million for a couple, or for one person? In this must-watch analysis, I break down what 1M65 can realistically generate from age 65 using CPF LIFE Standard Plan and a 20-year OA drawdown illustration. For the original 1M65 couple, S$500,000 each produces about S$5,140 a month combined. That is a meaningful foundation, but after daily living costs, healthcare, insurance, home expenses and inflation, it may be closer to a basic retirement than the comfortable retirement many imagine. Then we examine S$750,000 per person and 1M65 as an individual. The results may surprise you. The key is no longer simply “How much money do I have?” but “How much reliable income will my money actually produce every month?” Join me as we look at the numbers honestly, plan further ahead, and ask the question every Singaporean should answer before retirement. For learning only. CPF LIFE payouts and individual outcomes depend on age, sex, plan choice, balances and prevailing CPF rules.
