In a few days’ time, it would be Dec 2022, coming to the end of the year.
I have not been blogging much as I wanted to take a breather from social media and investing, and just focus on other aspects of life.
Nevertheless, looking at my own portfolio, in terms of value, I could safely say 2022 is technically ‘a lost year’. The value of my portfolio did not go up or down for the whole of 2022 – in fact, I could say that I have basically lost a year’s worth of active income in addition to some more unrealized loss. Or put it another way, if I have liquidated all my positions at the start of 2022, and remained invested for much of 2022, I would have been better off financially (at least my net worth would have increased based purely on my active job income).
