GoPro. Up 60% in 4 months. (And other updates.)

Earnings season time and 3 of the stocks in the BfGf Portfolio has reported their latest financial results.  GoPro, Chipotle, and Apple.  I haven’t had time to write my Apple analysis but hey, let’s just say they generate a hell lot of cash and the iPhone 6 is still selling like hotcakes.  Who cares if the analysts missed their estimates? GoPro, let me count the ways I love thee… I have written about GoPro twice.  It has grown to become the biggest holding in my portfolio.  You can read about it in these posts: http://bfgfmoneyblog.com/bf-gf-portfolio-secret-stock-revealed-gopro-gpro/ http://bfgfmoneyblog.com/gopro-up-36-bfgf-portfolio/ I bought it...

NauticAWT Limited – Balloting results

The Company announced a decent subscription number where the tranche was 6.1x subscribed.  Having said that, I don’t see any interesting “anchors” like the ones in iX Biopharma. The share price has a decent debut today but as usual, don’t be the last to hold the baby.  Let’s see how this stock debuts and good luck to those who got it....

iX Biopharma – Balloting Results

iX Biopharma announced an interesting set of balloting results where the entire IPO offer was 1.4x subscribed. The balloting ratio is below. It is also interesting to see Alan Wang playing in this IPO. Let’s see if there is any “magic” from him tomorrow. Probably he saw value that i can’t. :) Happy IPOing and good luck to those who got...

Ant-Man – Reminded Me Of Singapore O & G

Ant-man, the latest Marvel’s comic adaptation blockbuster is tiny but huge. Tiny, as a superhero character but huge in terms of entertainment value as well as the box office sales. It tops the US Box Office with $57.2 millions. Not the best but still a commendable one. I am going to watch it only tomorrow but so far have been receiving rave review from friends and movie critics. So, I am pretty much looking forward to it. For some strange reason, the ant-man movie reminded me of the latest blockbuster IPO, Singapore O & G. Its IPO priced at...

A selection of Singapore stocks to talk about

There is one stock which has been making the top twenty volume stocks and this stock is none other than New Silkroutes stock. When I saw the name of this stock, I thought that this is a new IPO stock but then I found out that the former name of this stock was Digiland stock. New Silkroutes stock closed at $0.1 cents on 16 July 2015 and the company has appointed a new CEO in Mr Goh Jin Hian to turn around the IT business of the company and embark a new journey in oil and gas industry so...

Recent Action – Accordia Golf Trust

I made a recent purchase of 17,000 shares of Accordia Golf Trust at a price of 64.5 cents. As far as I can remember, I do not have a very good impression of trust that are listed here in SGX. I have made my fair share of loss when I balloted for the IPO for Ascendas Hospitality Trust (AHT) which I then subsequently sold at a loss (link here). Other trusts such as Asian TV have not been performing since its debut as well. For Accordia, they have lost nearly 32% of their value since their IPO at 97...

This stock looks interesting to Tom K

One stock which closed 1.6% lower today at $0.12 is looking “interesting” to me. Why punt on penny stocks, you may ask Tom K who have been advocating investors to specialize in high-dividends stocks trading at good valuations? I am not punting on penny stocks, but just looking at this stock to form my buying decision. Though definitely, I am an advocate of high dividends stocks, I still believe that investors should set aside a little of their portfolio for some “fun” by playing a little of “penny stocks”. So what is this stock? Well, this stock is none...

iX Biopharma Ltd

iX Biopharm Ltd (“iX” or the “Company”) is issuing 65.5m shares at $0.46 each. The public tranche is for 1m with the balance through placement. I will just do a high level “copy and paste” analysis on the Company. Before I start, I want to declare that I know nothing about this sector. You may want to refer to my post on QT Vascular on how I “validated” the medical technology then. Having said that and looking through the prospectus, this Company is probably too high risk for me and to be able to list under current bear market...

Happy 8th Anniversary!

It seemed just a short while ago when i penned this post 12 months ago! Time really files and i am sad to report that this must be the worst ever IPO drought I have ever experienced other than during GFC… we only had 3 small Catalist listings for the first 6 months this year (versus 10 for the same period last year). I spoke to a few bankers doing ECM here this week and they are all looking for new jobs or roles. Mr. Loh Boon Chye, the newly appointed CEO of SGX, has a huge task in...

IREIT: My strategy in its 45 for 100 rights issue.

IREIT’s 45 for 100 rights issue is priced at $0.468 per rights unit. Links to the full details of the rights issue have been provided at the end of this blog post. So, I will only blog about the more interesting bits and my strategy. As I am investing for income, I am first and foremost interested in the DPU, post acquisition. It is important to note that the DPU hardly improves, post acquisition. An important consideration in IREIT’s case is the foreign exchange rate, specifically, between the EURO and the Singapore Dollar. In my last blog post on IREIT in February...
