Recently, I received a multi-email question from one of my readers and thought that it would be good to share the Q&A with other readers.
The Questions
1. Leasehold condo, left 79 years lease
Should we sell this apartment which has a rental yield of about 7 percent or continue to rent it out since it is a fully paid apartment? The reason for selling is in case of property correction that experts predict a 30 percent drop, we would have enough down payment for a landed property or any good property. Currently, the property market is very highly priced, most new leasehold launches are above $1k psf. All old apartments are asking above $1k psf too, therefore it is impossible to buy landed as most of them asking above $2mil. We have never seen this before and really dun know how far the market can stretch?
