It is now towards the end of February, and I thought it timely to update on my portfolio.

Due to a spectacular pick on a momentum stock which zoomed an astounding 82% return since I bought it in end Dec 2013, my stock portfolio has gone up. Unfortunately I only put a small position as it is a higher risk stock, and I wanted to avoid a big drop in portfolio if the trade did not do well. Well, it did do better than I expected, and so it helped to pull returns for the entire portfolio up to 14%.

This is despite another stable dividend stock which I bought initially as a "stabilizer" to the riskier stock, dropping 5%. Goes to show that despite all the planning you can't tell how the market turns out. What I intended ......
