Random thoughts – David Moyes & Value Investing

David Moyes had been hogging the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

The most ardent Manchester United fan would find it hard to accept the fortunes of their beloved club which had been in a dramatic free-fall. 


There are so many people calling for his head, I can't help but draw comparisons to the type of stomach one needs to have in investing.

You may say, "ARE YOU SAYING DAVID MOYES IS A VALUE STOCK?!?!"


While I will never go to the extent of saying David Moyes is a value stock by any means, I think the mental strength one needs to stick to a decision, in this case the manager, is eerily similar to a value investor holding on or even averaging down his stockpick when prices continue to fall after the initial purchase. 

It takes real balls.
