I think the above philosophy is bullshit. Words are cheap, and action is hard.  Since starting this blog and attempting to become more financially savvy and lead a less consumerist lifestyle, I have made many changes in my life. I am, however, hindered by many obstacles, namely the husband and my family in general, who do not really jive with the idea very well. There is only so much I can save if no one else is saving.  It does happen that some stuff I say on my blog, does not actually happen in real life due to these outside factors. Ultimately though, what I can control is myself.  I promised not to buy a single piece of clothing this year. And so far, I haven’t (though I’ve been absolutely sorely tempted once. It was $30 only – but a promise to myself is a promise.) ......
