I hope the title got your attention. What do I mean by control your fate?  It sounds like some slogan out of a fengshui mastery class or a peppy motivational workshop. Fate goes by many names.  It is also known as providence, Lady Luck, 老天 (Heaven), the Universe (remember "The Secret"?) and so on. To me, fate takes on a simple meaning - it refers to all things that are outside of my control. Since this is a money blog, what are the related events that are within our control, versus those that are out of our control? Things that are within our control include:

• salary,
• business,
• save up,
• invest, and
• learn.
