Family Disputes

When I was young, my parents used to quarrel over money. We are not a well-to-do family.  My parents worked as blue collar workers.  Any income is used to put food on the table and support my two siblings and I through school.  By scrimping and saving, my mother managed to accumulate a small sum.  But that is where the trouble started. Knowing my mother, my uncles will approach her to borrow money to solve their personal problems.  Being soft-hearted, my mother will consent to lend the money.  My father objects to such lending and will reprimand my mother for her naivety.  However, my father sometimes lends money to help his brothers too, which my mother retorts as double standard.  Raised voices lead to heated quarrels and a cold war that lasts a few weeks.
