My first article, A Beginner’s Guide To Investing In Sports Cards touches on the basics of sports cards. In this 2nd part of the guide, I will share how I determine which cards are in demand and which cards are undervalued. I will also be showing some examples of my recent flips on my COMC account.

Demand & Hype

Demand is one of the most important factors that determine the price of a card. Strong demand for a card can push up the price of the card to an astronomical level. All time greats and rookies with a lot of hype surrounding them usually have strong demand for their cards.

Legends like Michael Jordan, Pele, Babe Ruth, Tiger Woods and Roger Federer are arguably the best in their respective sports. These are the players that people will remember 50-100 years from now. Their cards will have no lack of demand.
