Wall Street is looking to kick start its earnings season this week with several heavyweight companies reporting results in the week of 13 July. PepsiCo will be the first to announce on Monday followed by companies such as Delta Air Lines, JP Morgan, Wells Fargo on Tuesday, Goldman Sachs on Wednesday, Johnson & Johnson, Netflix on Thursday, and BlackRock on Friday.
What is certain, is ironically the level of uncertainty that this quarter of results will bring forth, where the disparity between analyst consensus is the largest in the absence of companies’ earnings guidance due to COVID-19.
While many expect the YoY earnings drawdown in 2Q20 to be one of the largest one in Wall Street history, that has not stop the appreciation rate of the market, which could well breach their all-time high levels witnessed in Feb 2020 (the Nasdaq has already crossed that level and is currently perch at All-Time high), post the 2Q20 result season....
