If there is one thing you should take away from 2020 (other than the pandemic), it is the vulnerability of our planet. 2020 was the second warmest year recorded, right behind 2019. The previous decade produced 7 of the 10 hottest years in history. Extreme weather is happening more frequently, ranging from wildfires in Australia to Texas declaring emergency after recording record low temperature. Apart from climate change, there is a rise in racial and social discontent among people as inequality deepens across society. Many governments and altruistic individuals are doing their best to combat this. What else can we do as individuals? What if there was a way for investors like us to do our part, make our world a better place AND generate high returns for our investment portfolios at the same time?
