For the sake of those who don’t know – Executive Condominiums are a form of hybrid housing, a mix of private condo and public housing. It was first introduced in 1996, and ECs count as HDB properties for the first 10 years, but are fully privatised afterwards. This means the rules regarding HDB properties, such as the Minimum Occupancy Period (MOP), only apply for the first decade.  So for those that are after the condo lifestyle, but are hampered by your budget, ECs are a very obvious choice.
