An associate adviser not too long ago asked me this question: If you were me as an Associate adviser and came in without a financial background but were working towards a client adviser, what would you do to prepare for the role of a client adviser? To me, that is the most critical question to me because it tells me a few things about a person. I decided to sit the associate adviser down but what I shared is less about the finance or much to do with the business but what I felt is most important: The art of learning something.
