Then came the news – a merger between TD Ameritrade and Charles Schwab, a big name in the investment world. Exciting, right? But it also meant saying goodbye to TD Ameritrade in Singapore. As a user of both TD Ameritrade and Charles Schwab. I have witnessed interesting strategic changes in Singapore for both investment platforms and wrote about it in my blog.

• In 2020, Charles Schwab decided to leave Singaporeafter they acquired OptionXpress (I was an OptionXpress user too)
• In 2023 Oct, TD Ameritrade announced they would stop servicing retail investors.
• In 2024 May, all existing TD Ameritrade accounts will move to Schwab.
