HSBC Revolution — End Of 4mpd Contactless Spend (How It Affects My Air Miles Strategy)

The upcoming changes to HSBC Revolution continue, with the exclusion of contactless transactions for 4mpd from 15 July 2024 and travel-related expenses for bonus miles from 1 January 2025. The HSBC Revolution credit card has earned a spot in my wallet for a number of years, but that might be up for a change soon. When I assess a credit card such as the HSBC Revolution for its miles-earning prowess, there are two simple points to take note of. First, the mode of credit card usage that grants bonus reward points. A credit card can either be used offline (physical stores), online, or contactless (PayWave). Second, the transaction categories (either whitelist or blacklist) that grant bonus reward points, or what we usually term as 4 miles per dollar spent.
