The second (out of 5) speaker was Ms Penny Low, MP of Pasir Ris – Punggol GRC. Ms Low spoke of her fond memories of the financial industry because 10 years ago she was one of the ‘younger’ practitioners who believed in comprehensive financial planning.  To her, a practitioner’s life is not about making money. It is about providing for security, well being and capital to individuals. She said Financial Planning is quite close to her passion. Her passion is with regard to social entrepreneurship to solve social concerns through innovations. She challenged the audience of practitioners to consider what products to solve global issues. She gave a few examples (I could only jot down three of the four). The first example is on low fertility rate resulting in high dependence ratio in Singapore.
