This morning, I purchased a bag of fruits from a supermarket. I was really surprised that the price of the fruits has become $1.20, a 21.2% increase from its original 99-cents selling price. This is not the only observation of rising food prices. For example, my nasi lemak usually bought from a nearby food stall has also experienced a 7% price increase to three dollars. And if the above are not sufficient to convince me that prices are increasing, it is reported that public transport operators will increase fares of trains and buses as well.
I would expect higher quality from public services providers to commensurate with higher fees, however, my experiences yesterday on public transport providers is anything but satisfactory. I mean I am not referring to the glitches on the North-South MRT line which caused inconveniences to an estimated 19,000 commuters. For my encounter, I waited ......
