From the way most of my friends invest, I see a trend of trading rather than investing. Trading is in today’s context, to enter into the stock markets, have a quick “turn-over” holding period and earn fast profits: it would be even better if the profits are made contra. I used to adopt this “modus operandi” however I think even for trading, one needs to plan, on what stocks to buy and when to buy. Many traders, I believe, are speculators, not knowing that when the price of a share goes higher, it is probably time for the bigger players to sell these stocks which they have on hand. I do not blame my friends or most of the retail investors to adopt this kind of strategy and not be like Warren Buffet who advocates in buying and holding a stock.
