Mapletree North Asia Commercial Trust

On 13 November 2019, Mapletree North Asia Commercial Trust share price dropped to 11 months low at $1.15 due to rioters had broke into & extensively damaged Festival Walk. They even set fire on a large Christmas tree & office lobby. In my opinion, this incident present a rare buying opportunity to scope up its shares cheaply based on HK situation will eventually come under control with China intervention or the introduce of emergency law/curfew by HK SAR government which I foresee it will come anytime soon. The healing of  Hong Kong society need a comprehensive & bold measure to...

Increased position on Mapletree North Asia Commercial Trust

From mid September , the situation in Hongkong have taken a turn for the worse & violence had reached culmination point. Innocent civilians get assaulted, Secondary school students skips school & take part in protests, families broken up because of different political views, Public transport infrastructure, business & banks properties have been vandalized by rioters which  take a heavy toil on HongKong already fragile economy. It seems that social media wielded a great influence on how people thinks & feels. Especially in Hongkong, a lot of people had great misconception on its HK Police force & China government due...

Be the Master of your own Destiny : Towards Financial Freedom

Mapletree Commercial Trust had hit all time high at $2.28. I hope for the price to retraces so that I can add more to my existing position but it keeps climbing non stop.I guess I have to wait a little more longer. Recently, the Company I working in had decided to limit our overtime, it gradually cut from a certain number of OT to Zero OT and it will take effect very soon. The rationale to cut OT is to stay Competitive as what i have hear from my department boss. He mentioned it was instruction from Upper Management...

Mapletree Family & Frasers Commercial Trust

On 24th July 2019, bought 5,000 shares of Mapletree Industrial Trust at $2.28 per share. On the same day, I increased my position on Mapletree Logistics by 4,000 shares at $1.60 per share & Mapletree North Asia Commercial Trust by 4,300 shares at $1.41 per share. After the purchase,my holdings for Mapletree Logistics & Mapletree North Asia Commercial Trust will increase to 10,000 shares & 14,300 shares respectively. Initially I am concerned about the political situation in Hongkong which will affects the Mapletree North Asia as 62% property income derive from its Festival Walk property in HK.Though the management have...

Further reduce postion on SingTel & Bought Capitaland Retail China Trust

On 12th of July 2019, further reduce my position on SingTel by selling 3,000 shares at $3.53 per share. I had sold 9,000 SingTel shares in June & this 3,000 will be the last batch of selling for this year. The 2 SingTel trades net a decent profit as I bought it when it price went to a  $3.30 range. The rationale is to reduce large concentration on a single counter  & take some profits off the table. SingTel still remains my 2nd largest holding in my portfolio after the trade. And on 16th July 2019, I bought 15,000...

Sold Ascott Residence Trust.

On 3rd of July 2019, sold 5000 shares of  Ascott Residence Trust at $1.28 per share. Net about $430+ profit from this sale. Ascott share price keeps hovering around $1.1 range for a very long time and I don’t understand the sudden price spike to $1.3 range this year, even with a decent quarterly result does not warrant such a increase in it share price. Obviously, the merger news  between Ascott Residence Trust and Ascendas Hospitality Trusthad leaked way beforehand which propel it share price to $1.3 range. After trading halt on Ascott had been lifted on 3rd of July,...

Reduced Position on SingTel

On 25th June 2019, sold 9,000 shares of SingTel shares at $3.46 per share. The move is to reduce my enlarged position on my SingTel & redeploy the capital to REIT. After I sold ,the price reach as high as $3.52 and retraces down. I might sell another 3,000 shares of SingTel before it goes XD on 26 July this year. SingTel still remains my second largest holding after reduced position. It also known that SingTel board will unlock its investments in Trustwave, Videology & Amobee when the time is ripe. SingTel has spent approx. $1200 million on acquired...

I will be looking at Mapletree Industrial Trust & if the price is right for me, i will buy it. For now, is to build up ammo for the next...

Increased position on MapleTree Commercial Trust

On 29 Jan 2019, added 10,000 shares of MapleTree Commercial Trust at $1.79 each. My position will increase to 16,000 shares after this purchase. The subsequent run up of the share did surprises me as it reached all time high at $1.93. Though I am tempted to take profit but I will stick to my investing principles. At current price $1.86 , I will be hesitate to add more as it distribution yield will be further compress to 5%. If the price start to retraces ,I will be adding more else I will be looking at other...

Colleague Dilemma: $100000

Recently my colleague and I had a discussion on different types of assets class & which is the best yielding assets to invest in. In the midst of the conversation, he told me that he has $100,000 but not sure where to park his money at.It seems that “有钱也会有烦恼“。 He is 35 years old, married and have a kid .He has max his CPF SA to FRS of $161,000. He also invest in Singapore Savings Bond & nearly reach the $100,000 limit. However the 1997 CLOB crisis & 2008 Sub prime crisis which he lost heavily in Lehman mini...

Further increase position on SingTel & Sold IREIT

On 17th July 2018, sold 10000 shares of IREIT at $0.785 each & made a small profit out of this transaction. The decision to sell  IREIT is to build up ammo for the purchase of Singtel shares. And on 24th July 2018, I further increase my position on Singtel & bought 9000 shares at $3.32 each. This bring my Singtel share holding to 27000 shares. At the end of this year, Singapore telco landscape will never be the same again. The scenario reminds me the period of  7 Warring States who fought for supremacy to control China. I foresee...

On 14th of June 2018, sold all my 6,000 shares of IFAST at $1.05 per share and 9,000 shares of Ausnet Services at $1.56 per share & another 1000 shares at $1.52 each. For IFAST, made about 17%+ gain since last bought at end of March 2018. As for Ausnet Services, the gain could have been more higher if I had sold immediately when the news of delisting in SGX is out. However a good lesson learnt is I did not take into calculation of the bulk sale of share listed in SGX could prompt investors to lock in...

Increase position on SingTel

On 25th of May 2018 , bought 3000 shares of SingTel at $3.34 each due to recent correction. Reinvested the dividends collected & a portion of savings to make the money works harder for me. Recently, I received a “blue bomb” & was shocked that I have to pay my taxes which is double of last year. This is a good thing with ref to income earning but it stills hurts because my monthly expenses don’t even reach that amount. I also managed to persuade a few of my Colleagues to park their savings into Singapore Savings Bonds instead...
