I was in Taiwan last week and I had envisioned myself checking my emails and blogging in my mountain top hotel with a hot cup of Alishan tea overlooking a superb view of the clouds and birds chirping in the background. Sounds cool ya except the checking of emails and blogging part which has been bugging me and I decided that in order to truly enjoy myself, I will ditch all work unless it is of utmost importance.
I have been to Taiwan several times but I have not grown tired of the place because every visit offers me a unique experience.
Here are some pics to share:

And so comes the end of my trip. It has been more than a week since I updated my finances and on last count, I have 1,000+ personal emails and another few hundred office emails waiting to be cleared.
Anyone care for another glass of Whisky? ;)
Hi Derek,
Looks like you had fun :) Well, work can always wait, but fun cannot always wait for you ;) Btw, nice photos there ;)
It looks like I’m going off on a short trip this month too. Been working my ass off since the start of the year!
Hi LP,
Thanks and enjoy your trip ya. You deserved it..

Cheers!
Seems like you had an awesome trip! Recharge the batteries to go the distance man. Your photos reminded me of how much I love Taiwan – maybe it is time to plan a visit next year.

Hi Kevin,
Yeah, a beautiful country and a unique experience each time.
Plan early and you can get cheap tickets too.
Wow! Awesome photos, been to Taiwan one or two years ago, these photos reminded me to pay Taiwan a visit again, I loved the country ;-)
Hi Richard,
Just do it. This is my 6th time to Taiwan and the country never fails to disappoint..
I miss Ah Zhong mian xian, Ding Tai Fung and this particular brand of milk tea at can only be found in Taiwan’s 7/11! looks like u had fun with all the foodie pics!
Hi Joyce,
IMO, Ah Zhong is too touristy now. I hardly see any locals eating it. You can ask the mian xian that the locals like and it might taste even better.
Milk Tea at 7/11? I suppose it is bottled? Sad to say, we didn’t really drink a lot of milk tea because we need to keep our stomach empty for all the other ‘glorious’ food.
Really? I love ah Zhong though…I went twice in 3 days on my first trip. I doubt I would get to go again because ACCICB doesn’t like Taiwan! This is the milk tea that I love to bits! It’s freshly made and bottled but with about a couple of days before it expires. I bought so many bottles back the last time! http://www.bifido.com.tw/newsite/products.asp?classid=AA20131217174229&classid1=AA20131217175115
Serious? I thought most guys would like Taiwan? I went with my partner and another couple and it is the gals who are not keen in going back anytime soon.
Those milk tea look like cosmetics. I will definitely keep a look out for that. While coming back, I saw a family checking in a huge box of 一度赞 noodles.
Hi Derek,
Nice pictures there. Taiwan is indeed a good place for a trip. Not too expensive too.
1000+ personal emails is quite crazy. I did blog when I was in Taiwan but its because I was stuck on the mountains due to typhoon so nothing to do. haha
Hi SGYI,
That sounds awesome, urm I mean crazy. kekeke. Did you manage to take any pics of mother nature unleashing her fury?
My first experience on a natural disaster was also in Taiwan during my army days and that was my first day of R&R!

For those in Taipei, you can cycle along the different river routes. The best time is autumn/spring. Very cooling and the sights are beautiful.
Hi Cory,
Any routes in Taipei to recommend? My friends cycled in 墾丁 and I had an idea to cycle round Taiwan a few years ago but that will take about 3 weeks. I couldn’t afford to take so many days of leave.
