I’m feeling generous lately!
If you think that only miles cards are used by travel hackers, then you shouldn’t really be writing about the topic. People who are serious about collecting miles know that we rely on a variety of credit cards, each that will reward certain category of purchases (such as dining, electronics, online and travel etc) with a specific number of reward points.
While we usually have a general idea of what to do in specific circumstances, rules may not always be so clear-cut or we may forget that certain exclusions apply. Take OCBC Titanium Rewards Card, for example. It awards 10x OCBC$ for specific spending categories and merchants, such as IKEA.
While OCBC Titanium Rewards will earn 10x OCBC$ for shopping at IKEA for furniture (MCC 5712), it does not do so at IKEA Restaurant that serves the delicious Swedish meatballs (MCC 5814).
