I firmly believe that behind each individual is a story of initial struggle, followed by actualisation and finally, action. To me, this is an inescapable, almost-universal story arc we all undertake in the quest for a better future. This arc connects us as individuals, and it is upon this arc that every community, large or small, is built. “Everyone needs an origin story” is therefore about the members of the personal finance and financial independence retire early (FIRE) community; and the everyday finance or life-related problems that they overcame, or are currently facing.
