Lunch Expense Optimization(Story Time)

As you guys know from all my blog posts, I am all about enhancing cash inflow via savings accounts, bonds, stocks/property investments and minimizing cash outflow using credit card rebate and finding good deals to lower recurring expenses. Sadly, society today only wants to sell us on ways to outflow our cash. From interest free monthly installment plans, Cable/gym subscription plans, ILP premiums and paylater schemes just to name a few. I have been working from home since the start of Covid. Recently, I frequent this mixed rice stall inside Malaysia Boleh(Jurong Point) for lunch. They charge S$2.80 for two vegetables one meat. The surprising thing is they accept credit card, which means I can pay using Citi cashback and get additional 6% off. Effectively paying S$2.63 for this: Its always more efficient to spend using credit, as cash should be parked in interest yielding accounts rather than your wallet(dead money)....
