[caption id="attachment_2890" align="alignright" width="150" caption="Photo by > NeoGaboX<"]Photo by > NeoGaboX<[/caption] Dear Readers and Authors, When I first started this site two and a half years ago, there weren't many local Financial blogs but I'm glad to say now that this is not the case now. It's really heartening to see more people willing to share their thoughts and experiences online. Unfortunately my current site is no longer capable of handling the large influx of new blogs. As some of you have known, I have been talking about revamping my site for some time and I have finally found a designer at a reasonable price. Although I hope to earn some pocket money from my site, my main focus is still on you - the readers and authors. I will not clutter my site with ads.  Content and readability is still my top priority. The design of my new site will be pretty similar to http://tipd.com However, I will still like to hear your views and comments on what you will like to see in the new site so that I can discuss with the designer. Although I can't promise that I will deliver all of them due to budget constraint, I can promise to look into every single one of them seriously and try my best to accommodate them. I'm also looking for ideas on a new tag line. The current one "A Collection of Personal Finance and Investing Blogs" is more of a statement rather than a tagline. No prizes for coming out with a tagline but I will credit you for it in my about page. Let's hear your views ya. PS: I have thought of a tagline: "New at your doorstep" but was told it is too general.

Maybe it is just me. I prefer the old design rather than the one at http://tipd.com

new tag line from me will be: “Thefinance.sg: The investment advice you can trust”

Nostalgic…same sentiment as Dou, I prefer this to the new one :)

But nvm me :) (I had readers who told me they preferred the old design rather than the new one, every time for the last 4-5 times)

I have one – TheFinance.sg: Coffee talk on the Coffee top

I should be able to come up with more…I’ll let the idea sink in first :)

  3. TheFinance.sg: Where knowledge comes free

    Hi Derek

Good to refresh one’s blog design now and then. Speaking of refreshing design, I think it’s time for my own fivecentstencents to do with a new wordpress theme. But need to sit down and figure out the new theme.. lay chay..hahah

    Some possible taglines:

Your One Stop Shop for Financial Blogs
    Your Money, Your Blogs
    Singapore Through Finance Blogs
    Where Finance Bloggers Meet
    The Financial Blogosphere

    Be well and prosper.

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for the feedback and wonderful taglines.

I’m pretty surprised that some of you still like the current design. May I know why? Would you like to retain the image thumbnail on each post? If so, what sort of images would you like to see?

As for the http://tipd.com design, it won’t be a exact rip off. There will be some subtle difference like its color and font.

The designer also offered me another choice – http://www.engadget.com/ but I find it too flashy. Maybe a mix of both designs?

    Hi Derek

Engadget type of design is nice if you have lots of photos to put up.

Ultimately, you have to test the design to see which of your users prefer. Hard to satisfy everybody. :-)

    Be well and prosper.
