Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in my opinion is the most prestigious and the most difficult credential to possess for a well rounded finance professional. Graduating from a Degree in Finance, Masters in Finance, years of investment banking experience does not help one to pass automatically. There is still a lot of work to be done and huge time commitment is necessary for one to get through the 3 levels.
I myself have put in countless hours and burnt tons of weekends preparing for Level 2. To understand why this is so difficult, you have to look at the curriculum. CFA Level 2 covers the following topics.
