Americans are living longer but sicker

The American Health Society has today announced that Americans are living longer but sicker. Life expectancy is now at 78.5 years, up 48.3% from the 1900s while cancer death is down 7.6%. Unfortunately, as life expectancy goes up, people looks to spend more time in hospital than in retirement.



Not surprising if you ask me. Double and bigger cheeseburger, binge drinking and the legalisation of marijuana lead the way in recent times have contributed to such a statistic. How attractive is that? Not really if you ask me. What's the use of living longer but sicker - a time where you spend more in hospital than in your retirement paradise. Looks like more and more people are taking lesser responsibility at their own health-related decisions. It is no wonder that we see McD and health related stocks trending higher and higher each year.
