they don’t know best, they only think they do

There was one small office I used to work at, where practically everyone in the room was a trader. Everyone was a trader doubling up as personnel with some other responsibility. There was no dedicated IT, HR, finance, etc, it was just trader who also helps out with system issues, trader who hires and fires, trader who signs your cheques etc.

In keeping with that minimalist payroll structure, it turned out the office appointed a CEO who also happened to be a trader. This meant that the trader/CEO was making markets and building positions at the same time that he was making executive decisions and performing managerial duties.
