This post was inspired by a discussion a property agent had with my mum. Just to recap: my mum owned around 10+ properties at her peak, and currently owns around 6. All of them are earning rent to cover mortgage + maintenance fees, and with some more wiggle room just in case the interest rates go up. There are a mix of condos, a HDB, and a few office units. My parents built what they had from scratch. Having lived through the aftermath of the Mao era, they basically came to Singapore with nothing. Neither of them were particularly great at their jobs either.
