Is the SMRT offer by Temasek fair?

No, I am not vested in SMRT. However, as the de facto national rail operator, any changes to SMRT is bound to draw the average resident's attention. For those who are still unsure of the situation, here is a quick summary:
  1. 15 July: LTA announced that they will buy over SMRT's rail assets at net book value
  2. 20 July: Temasek announced offer to take SMRT private at $1.68 per share

While I have read articles that argue otherwise, I feel it is undeniable that Singapore is now nationalising the rail transport system. Yes, exactly just as the opposition had suggested long ago.
