Starhub – The Great Collapse Has Begun

I previously sold my 5,000 shares of starhub at 3.93 and wrote about it here.  SH has since fallen 24 cents to 3.69, a decline of over 6%. The headline news is that SH Pay-TV may lose over 20 channels which may result in thousands of customers being taken over by Singtel. I guess I was pretty lucky to escape death, but I still firmly believe that its fundamentals have worsen and will continue to decline in face of the threat of the 4th telco while being dragged down by its legacy costs in cable tv/internet assets. In the long run, I see Starhub falling towards 15 times earnings or near the $3.00 level before stabilizing. A possible big write off in their cable business may lead to sharp fall in earnings and nav per share. If a 4th telco does come in from 2017 onwards, ......
