I have friends who say that I never spend on myself. That’s not true because I bought myself a Nintendo Switch OLED about half a year ago and it’s been one of my favourite purchases to date. Entirely frivolous purchase it was supposed to be, but it’s been an invaluable companion when I’m on public transport. It arguably saves me money!! Now you can get it for the excellent price of free when you sign up for your first Citi credit card (also if you have cancelled your last one more than 12 months ago)! Once you get your Nintendo Switch, don’t forget to check out Breath of the Wild and set aside about 100 to 200 hours of your life, and perhaps more when the sequel comes out next year. Alternatively, choose some Samsonite Luggage that is S$600 for some reason, or S$300 in cash. If you already have a Citi card, do look at the other card deals and contest that is running right now. As an adult, I’ve been through many ups and downs in my career path and personal finance journey, not unlike many Singaporeans. From my years as a tied insurance agent turned independent financial adviser, I realised that there are very few sources of proper, unbiased financial advice for working adults to access. Worse, self-styled “financial consultants” are selling products like savings plans and ILPs to the detriment of the clients whose interests they were supposed to serve.
