Over the past month, I spent quite a numbers of days overseas due to a variety of reasons and one of the places where I have stayed the longest was in Chiang Mai.
Never having been to Chiang Mai despite going to Bangkok multiple times, we decided to pay a visit this time to see what the hype (or temples) is all about.
So, Chiang Mai is actually home to hundreds of ancient temples, some of which have been in existence for over 700 years.
In addition, Chiang Mai is the cultural hub of Thailand, and is known for its vibrant night markets, delicious street food, and unique festivals. We just missed the Yipeng Lantern Festival that happened a week earlier, but were lucky enough to see the remnants of all the decorations that were still in place.
Thirdly, Chiang Mai is surrounded by lush green forests and is an excellent destination for trekking, mountain biking, and exploring the outdoors....
