Miles vs Cashback cards: which is better for you?

It is no secret that I was on Team Cashback throughout my 20s. Back then, as a single female who was spending less than $800 each month, cashback cards made the most sense for me because even if I clocked 4 miles for every single dollar, I would only have enough for a 1-way business class flight to Philippines (3 hours) at most after an entire year. Naturally, getting 1 month back in expenses was far more attractive to me! Now, if you have a similar life profile and prefer to have cold, hard cash back in your pocket for you to spend on other stuff, then cashback cards may still make sense for you.
